Judoschool Zwart, formerly known as Budoschool Shuhari, is a judo school serving communities including Leerdam and Zaltbommel. Its program uses judo as a way to support both physical and social resilience, encouraging participants to stay active and learn together. Lessons emphasize respect, discipline, enjoyment and resilience, alongside themes such as the history of judo, perseverance and getting back up after a fall. The school continues to develop and improve its classes, and prospective students can request two free trial lessons.
Beyond regular judo classes, Judoschool Zwart offers sessions at schools and other locations, as well as activities for team outings. It also hosts children’s parties, with themed options ranging from Japanese warrior activities and glow-in-the-dark painting to laser tag and special forces experiences. The website provides schedules for its locations, information about instructors and dan grades, and details on fees, subscriptions, judo uniforms and merchandise. Led by Esther Zwart, the school presents judo as an engaging sport and a practical setting for learning and personal development.
