New Zealand Junior Sevens is a rugby tournament organised by Junior Sevens Ltd, a company owned and operated by Brent and Kirsty Taylor. The event provides junior players with an opportunity to experience sevens rugby, compete with clubs and schools from New Zealand and overseas, and enjoy the game in a setting that emphasises sportsmanship and participation.
The 2019 tournament was scheduled for 28 and 29 September at Yarrows Stadium in New Plymouth, with daytime and evening matches. It welcomed school and club teams across five grades: U10, U11, U13, U15 girls and U15 boys, with age and weight eligibility requirements applying to some grades. Teams could register online, and the stated entry cost was $35 per player, with squads of 10 to 12 players recommended. Each participant was to receive an event T-shirt, drink bottle and bag.
The event also offered team information and registration support, with confirmation, payment details, team sheets and draws sent by email.
