About Just Economy & Labor Institute
Just Economy and Labor Institute (JELI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting social justice and protecting labor rights in Southeast Asia. Our mission is to empower workers and labor organizations by offering educational programs and capacity-building initiatives. Additionally, we collaborate with like-minded rights-based organizations to conduct strategic research and design campaign-oriented trainings, all aimed at achieving economic and labor justice.
We strive to bridge the gap between producers and workers by fostering solidarity, autonomy, and a powerful working-class movement. Recognizing the importance of gender justice and shared leadership, we also advocate for gender equality and women's leadership in organized labor and worker organizations. Established in 2017 by a group of labor rights advocates and researchers, JELI has since made significant contributions to the labor movement in the region through targeted trainings, supporting coalitions, and conducting pioneering research.
