About JusticeLA
JusticeLA is a dynamic advocacy organization founded in the Fall of 2017, dedicated to transforming the landscape of incarceration in Los Angeles. Emerging from community-driven efforts, JusticeLA focuses on reducing the immense impact of the county's jail system, which is among the largest in the world. The organization collaborates with grassroots groups, directly impacted individuals, and various stakeholders to halt jail expansion and redirect funds from incarceration towards community-based care systems.
Since its inception, JusticeLA has achieved significant milestones, including successfully stopping a $3.5 billion jail expansion plan in Los Angeles County and spearheading the creation of a comprehensive Alternatives to Incarceration Workgroup report. JusticeLA continually strives to bolster community engagement through resources such as the Activist Toolkit and partnership opportunities. Committed to reshaping justice in LA, JusticeLA invites individuals to get involved, stay informed, and support the movement for a more equitable future.
