Juurnee is a travel platform that connects passengers who want support during a flight with companions travelling on the same route who are willing to help for payment. It is designed for people who may find flying more manageable with an extra pair of hands, including parents travelling with children, elderly passengers, people with disabilities or injuries, and anxious flyers.
Passengers can post a journey for free, outlining their route, dates and needs. Companions browse available journeys, apply to suitable trips and are chosen by the passenger. Juurnee says companions are vetted and reviewed, and offers a process for holding payments securely until the journey is complete. Companions can sign up to browse journeys for free and pay A$30 a year to apply.
Founded by Rachel Crampton with co-founders Aurélie Cornu and Anisha Imran, Juurnee grew from the founders’ experiences of travelling with children and caregiving. Its service focuses on practical, personal assistance in the cabin, helping make air travel smoother and less stressful for passengers and their families.
