JVEK

Jääpallon Valioerotuomarit ry, known as JVEK, is Finland’s national association for elite bandy referees. Founded in 1985, it supports top-level officiating and works with its members, the Finnish Bandy Federation, referee committees, local referee organizations, and other partners to strengthen the sport. JVEK members officiate in Finland’s top division and contribute to referee development in international, regional, and junior competitions. They also represent Finnish bandy on the international stage.

The association promotes sporting conduct, professionalism, fairness, and equality, while advocating for referees and helping develop officiating across the country. JVEK also encourages people to become referees, presenting officiating as a way to stay involved in sport, build fitness, develop leadership and social skills, and join a close referee community. The role may also provide an opportunity to earn income. For aspiring officials, the organization offers information about applying, along with practical materials, rules, match schedules, and details on referee fees. Through these activities, JVEK supports both its members and the wider bandy community.
