Our brand pays homage to Jeff Wilkes, an accomplished sailor, grape grower, and vintner who recognized the winemaking potential of California's Central Coast. After selling grapes to the Miller Family for almost 20 years, Jeff started crafting his own wines under the JWilkes label. Though Jeff tragically passed away in 2010, the Miller Family acquired the JWilkes brand, ensuring that his vision lives on.

We source grapes from four revered regions – Santa Maria Valley, Paso Robles Highlands, Santa Rita Hills, and Ballard Canyon. These regions benefit from the California sun while being cooled by a reliable Pacific breeze, resulting in longer growing seasons and an ideal environment for a variety of varietals to thrive. Located just one block from the beach, our tasting room perfectly reflects our connection to the ocean.
