JZAR

The Journal of Zoo and Aquarium Research (JZAR) is an initiative of EAZA, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, representing over 400 member institutions in Europe and the Middle East. Established in 1992, EAZA aims to foster collaboration within the zoo and aquarium field for education, research, and conservation efforts.

JZAR offers a platform for publishing novel research papers, reviews, technical reports, and case studies focused on pure and applied biological sciences, conservation research, and enhancing zoo and aquarium roles. The journal emphasizes evidence-based husbandry practices to improve global management of living collections through scientific experimentation and meticulous observation.

Published quarterly, JZAR maintains a rapid publication process to encourage timely revisions and submissions. As an Open Access Journal with no publication fees, JZAR welcomes submissions from authors after reviewing the comprehensive Author Guidelines.
