K1-MET GmbH is a leading international metallurgical competence center based in Austria. With almost 20 years of collaboration with an industry and science consortium, K1-MET GmbH and its partner companies and universities are committed to advancing the modernization of the European metallurgical industry. They focus on research and development solutions to enhance resource efficiency, energy efficiency, and product quality, ensuring long-term competitiveness in Europe.

The research program is defined for a four-year period, with projects centered on metallurgical process efficiency and circularity, decarbonization and sector coupling, and the use of digital technologies for simulation and data analysis.
