K9 Friends is a renowned organization that has been dedicated to rescuing and rehoming stray and abandoned dogs since 1989. As a volunteer-run organization, they provide shelter and excellent veterinary care to dogs in need until they find loving forever homes. In addition to their rescue efforts, K9 Friends also assists in reuniting lost dogs with their owners and offers valuable guidance and support to new pet owners in the UAE.

Their main objective is to find permanent homes for all the dogs under their care. Each dog goes through a thorough neutering and health check process before being matched with a suitable family. Moreover, K9 Friends actively engages in education and awareness programs to encourage responsible dog ownership and address the issue of stray dogs in the UAE.

K9 Friends operates as a non-profit organization in collaboration with the Government's Community Development Authority (CDA). They receive support from Dubai Municipality and their purpose-built facility was gifted to them in 2009. However, the day-to-day running of the shelter requires funds which they raise through adoption fees, sponsorship programs, and the sale of merchandise.
