Kaakon Suunnistus

Kaakon Suunnistus ry is the regional association for orienteering clubs in Southeast Finland and serves as an area organization of the Finnish Orienteering Federation. It represents its member clubs and leads, supports and oversees orienteering across the region. Its work covers the sport’s different forms, including competition, youth activities, training and recreational exercise.

The association’s website provides news and practical information about regional courses, training camps and events, along with contact details for local clubs and association representatives. It also shares information about its rules and activities for young orienteers. Through support from the Finnish Orienteering Foundation, Kaakon Suunnistus can assist clubs with organized camps.

The association also makes electronic Emit control units available for clubs to use at events: its equipment includes 60 units and three zero units. Sets can be rented for €60, with the borrowing club responsible for shipping costs and any damage. By coordinating regional activities, sharing resources and representing member clubs, Kaakon Suunnistus helps strengthen access to orienteering throughout Southeast Finland
