Kagizen Yoshifusa is a historic Kyoto confectionery founded during the Kyoho era of the Edo period. Located in Gion, near Yasaka Shrine, the family-run brand has made traditional Kyoto sweets for generations, combining time-honored craft with seasonal inspiration. Its shops include the Shijo main store and the Kodaiji store, where visitors can enjoy the renowned kuzu-kiri, a refreshing kudzu noodle dessert, alongside wagashi that reflect the changing seasons.
Kagizen also operates ZEN CAFE, a contemporary retreat serving original sweets, and ZENBI, the Kagizen Yoshifusa Art Museum, with its Zplus museum shop. Customers can browse and purchase sweets through the online shop, which offers seasonal selections, dried sugar confections, standard sweets, yokan and assorted gift sets. The range also includes baked confections and other traditional treats. Some products are available only in stores or by telephone order. Through its shops, café, museum, events and online offerings, Kagizen shares the tastes and cultural atmosphere of Gion with local visitors and customers farther afield.
