Kainuun Noutajat ry is a retriever dog association founded in 1990, serving enthusiasts throughout the Kainuu region of Finland. With approximately 200 members, the association works to maintain and promote retriever activities locally. Its programme includes training sessions, courses, trials and other events, run with the help of active members and volunteers.
The association aims to organise retriever aptitude tests (NOU) and hunting tests (NOME-B) each year. It also offers training and courses to help participants prepare for aptitude tests, take part in NOME-B activities, and pursue water rescue (VEPE). Members of Kainuun Noutajat receive priority for places in trials and courses.
People interested in joining the association’s activities are welcome, and no previous experience is required; guidance is provided for all tasks. Visitors can take part in training, trials and events, or contribute as volunteers. Kainuun Noutajat also shares information through its Facebook page.
