About KAKS
The Foundation for Municipal Development is an independent non-profit foundation that aims to support municipalities and regions in Finland. With a focus on research and development, the foundation funds projects that serve municipalities and improve their scopes for action. They also provide grants to researchers at all stages of studies and research.
The foundation publishes a magazine called Polemiikki, which is the most widely read publication in the municipal sector in Finland. Additionally, they have three series of publications: Polemia, which discusses current social matters, Tutkimusjulkaisut, which publishes studies, and Julkaisut, which presents studies and views. The foundation organizes seminars on society and the municipal sector and encourages the exchange of views.
