Kalavasku

Kalavasku Ab Oy is a small fish farm located at the northern end of Lake Vaskunjärvi in Ruovesi, Finland. Its history dates back to 1964, and the farm produces fish using high-quality natural water, much of it supplied by springs. The company specializes in whitefish fry for stocking natural waters in Tampere and across the Pirkanmaa region, with deliveries available for both autumn and spring stocking. It also offers limited quantities of rainbow trout for further farming and fish stocks for sport-fishing businesses.

The farm produces no more than 2,000 kilograms of fish per year. Fish can be collected from the farm or, when needed, delivered to the customer’s location; orders are handled in reservation order, so early booking is recommended. Fish health is monitored regularly in cooperation with Finland’s food authority, EVIRA, and the regional veterinary officer. The farm’s water-management practices help maintain cool conditions during warm periods, supporting fish health. Kalavasku also provides knowledgeable service, particularly on whitefish farming, and reports reliable supply and healthy fish.
