Kalimat Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in Sharjah in 2016 under the patronage of Bodour Al Qasimi. Our mission is to provide vulnerable and visually disabled children, particularly from Middle Eastern war-torn and displaced regions, with access to books and advance literacy. Through our "Pledge a Library" initiative and partnership with the Accessible Books Consortium, we distribute and produce books in accessible formats for visually impaired children in Arabic-speaking communities.

We also endeavor to instill a love for reading in disadvantaged youth, foster social integration, and honor Arabic culture by promoting and distributing books in Arabic. Additionally, we are committed to raising awareness about advancing literacy and building networks with businesses and institutions for effective accessible publishing. Our efforts have included the distribution of thousands of books to refugee and asylum-seeking communities, training of publishing houses, and collaboration with international organizations and governments.
