Kallan Melojat

Kallan Melojat is a canoe and kayak club based in Kuopio, Finland. Founded in 1935, the club is a member of the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation and Pohjois-Savo Sports Federation. Its activities introduce people to paddling on Lake Kallavesi and its islands, while bringing members together to develop their skills and enjoy the outdoors.

The club offers beginner Meloja 1 courses, which teach essential paddling skills and provide a pathway to membership. Members can take part in guided summer activities and pursue touring, fitness, whitewater, marathon and freestyle paddling. The club also organizes further training, and its members compete in marathon and freestyle events, earning Finnish championship medals.

Kallan Melojat maintains two bases in Kuopio, with kayak storage buildings and launch docks. Members may use club paddling equipment and store their own gear at club facilities, subject to relevant handling skills for independent equipment use. The club does not rent equipment to non-members.
