Kalmantic AI Labs

Kalmantic is an applied AI research lab that studies how to put increasingly capable AI to work reliably, while helping people retain the ability to understand, direct, and improve it. Its work spans inference efficiency, coding agents, and evaluation of AI systems on difficult, realistic software tasks. Research includes jusInfer, which routes each job to a suitable model, as well as work on model optimization, quantization, pruning, compression, and inference strategies. Kalmantic also develops benchmarks for assessing agents on real-world software challenges, including legacy-code modernization and security.

Through OpenFactoryAI, Kalmantic builds, operates, and transfers software factories tailored to companies’ code, internal knowledge, and engineering workflows. These factories run coding agents within existing software development life cycles and can use models a company already works with. The lab also investigates how autonomous agents affect people, workflows, and organizations, looking beyond benchmark scores to real-world impact. Kalmantic collaborates with selected partners working in large-scale inference or agent-assisted software development, and is a member of the NVIDIA Inception program.
