Kalmar Karateklubb is a karate club in Kalmar, Sweden, dedicated to teaching Shotokan, a traditional style described by the club as the world’s oldest and most widely practised karate style. Its training is open to people of different ages and experience levels, with classes for children, young people and adults, including beginner and advanced groups. The club’s schedule also includes kata and kumite training for participants aged 15 and over who hold at least a yellow belt.

Training develops full-body fitness, strength, flexibility, coordination and core stability, while also teaching self-defence. The club notes that karate practice can support concentration and may help strengthen muscles for people experiencing back problems. Kalmar Karateklubb publishes seasonal training schedules and news, and invites prospective members to contact it about joining. At the time described on its website, children’s and youth groups had an approximate one-year waiting period, with interested families able to request a place on the waiting list by email. The club also welcomes community support through Svenska Spel’s sponsorship points programme.
