Kaloum Bankhi builds relationships first and buildings second, seeking communities where there is a foundation for change. Founded in 2017 by UC Berkeley architecture students and registering as a Guinean NGO in 2019, Kaloum Bankhi aspires to foster a design voice for the underserved, advancing social good through the global migration of an affordable, sustainable, and tangible architecture from community to community. Kaloum, Conakry, Guinea is an inclusive, compassionate community that serves as a catalyst for the migration of a culturally aware architecture. Already recipients of the Judith Lee Stronach Baccalaureate Prize and UC Berkeley Big Ideas competition, Kaloum Bankhi’s diverse, passionate team unites culture and experience together in their commitment to place and people.

With a focus on addressing overpopulation and the increasing number of slums, Kaloum Bankhi offers innovative solutions to provide safe, sanitary, and warm housing options for Guinea's most vulnerable populations. The brand's team consists of highly skilled and passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds in architecture, city planning, economics, engineering, and more.
One of Kaloum Bankhi's core values is working closely with local communities, as they believe that true change starts with fostering learning and growth within these communities. Founded in 2017 by UC Berkeley architecture students, Kaloum Bankhi became a registered Guinean NGO in 2019.
