About Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services
Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) is a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) that supports and represents eight independent ACCHOs across the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Founded in 1986, KAMS aims to empower Kimberley Aboriginal people to be strong, healthy, and connected through Aboriginal community-controlled services. With a strong focus on Aboriginal community control, caring, respect, and culture, KAMS delivers holistic health and well-being outcomes in partnership with Aboriginal-led organizations.
They offer a wide range of services, including financial and accounting support, regional population health programs, social and emotional well-being support, health promotion, information communication technology support, corporate services, accredited health training and education, and research. In addition to their advocacy and support role, KAMS provides comprehensive primary health care services in remote communities and manages regional renal support and dialysis services. With a commitment to accountability, integrity, sustainability, leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement, KAMS strives to leave a positive legacy for future generations
