Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition (IKMC) is an esteemed global math competition that has been a staple in promoting mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills since the 1980s. Originating in Australia, the competition has now expanded to over 90 countries, attracting more than six million participants. In Vietnam, the IKMC debuted in 2016, organized collaboratively by the IEG Development Center and the Hanoi University of Education.
The competition caters to students from grades 1 to 12, with the goal of encouraging international educational standards and enhancing practical problem-solving abilities. Participants engage in a bilingual (English-Vietnamese) multiple-choice format that fosters logical reasoning and creative thinking.
Beyond the competition, the program offers a free summer camp for top performers to connect with peers across Asia and partake in STEM activities, inspiring innovation and collaboration. As the 9th edition launches in 2024, the IKMC promises an enriching platform for Vietnam's youth, equipping them with essential skills for global integration and success.
