The Kangaroo Club is a UK registered charity that supports people living with an Ileo-Anal pouch or a Koch pouch, those considering either type of surgery, and their supporters. It offers practical information and opportunities to connect with others who understand the experience of pouch surgery and life with a pouch. Its website provides resources including frequently asked questions about Ileo-Anal and Koch pouches, write-ups from Information Days, and guidance on keeping fit.
Members and others can also join a private Facebook support group, attend relaxed Zoom catch-ups, and take part in community events. The charity holds annual Information Days covering a range of topics, with speakers and recordings made available online when possible. Its informal online discussions welcome people with a pouch, those considering surgery, and supporters, with conversation shaped by participants’ questions and interests.
Visitors can join the club and sign up for news and updates. The Kangaroo Club also shares relevant news and works with sponsors, including Salts Healthcare and Occtopus, to support its information and community activities
