Kangaroo Mother Care

Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) is an innovative approach centered on the importance of skin-to-skin contact between parents and their newborns, especially vital for premature infants. Emphasizing the physiological and emotional benefits, KMC supports breastfeeding while fostering strong bonding, which is crucial for the child’s development. This method is rooted in scientific research that highlights the necessity of immediate and continuous closeness right from birth, minimizing stress for newborns and enhancing their growth potential.

KMC promotes practical techniques for caregivers, offering guidance on safely implementing skin-to-skin care with tools like the KangaCarrier, specially designed for very premature babies. The initiative aims to make this nurturing practice accessible to all families, regardless of socio-economic status, aligning with WHO guidelines. Whether educating new parents or supporting health professionals, KMC serves as a comprehensive resource. Through its focus on evidence-based practices, KMC champions the well-being of every newborn and emphasizes the irreplaceable role of parental presence in the early stages of life.
