Kanovereniging Sloterplas is a community canoe and kayak club based on the Watersporteiland at Sloterplas in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Active for more than 50 years, the association brings members together to paddle, explore local waterways and enjoy time at its club grounds. Members can head out in kayaks, Canadian canoes or stand-up paddleboards, using their own craft or the club’s equipment.
The club organizes guided touring trips, including a regular Wednesday-evening outing during the summer season, and members also arrange trips on other days. Newcomers can enquire about membership and an introductory course, with lessons available for learning to kayak. Club days are Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, offering opportunities to meet members and find out more.
The surrounding area provides routes for paddling around Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Kanovereniging Sloterplas is a membership association, not a boat-rental service; canoe rentals are offered by its neighbouring Watersportcentrum Sloterplas. The club welcomes people interested in joining its paddling community and taking part in tours and activities
