Kansansoutu

Satakunnan Kansansoutu ry organises a welcoming, three-day rowing and paddling excursion along the Kokemäenjoki River in Satakunta, Finland. The 109-kilometre journey runs from Sastamala to Pori and brings together rowing enthusiasts, families, local communities and spectators. It is a recreational adventure rather than a race: participants travel at their own pace, meet at scheduled rest and meal stops, and aim to reach Pori together in a procession of boats and canoes. The event combines physical challenge and outdoor enjoyment with socialising and opportunities to experience the region’s cultural landscapes and river heritage.

The organisation provides practical information for participants, including route maps, schedules, equipment and safety guidance, accommodation instructions, contact details and a trip guide. Its website also offers registration and an online shop, and lists boat and portable toilet trailer rentals. In addition to the main event, the site promotes a separate self-guided outing from Sastamala toward Ellivuori. Satakunnan Kansansoutu shares updates and participant videos through Facebook and Instagram, inviting the public to take part or follow the event.
