Kansrijke Start Alphen is a local coalition in the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, bringing together public services, healthcare providers and community organisations to help every child get a healthy, secure start in life. Its work focuses on the first 1,000 days, from pregnancy through a child’s second birthday, when early support can strengthen physical, mental and social development. The coalition connects families with timely assistance and helps professionals identify concerns, coordinate care and prevent children or parents from falling through gaps in support.

Its partners include the municipality, Alphen Vitaal, Gezond Boskoop, Youth Health Care (Hecht), midwives, Kwadraad’s parenting and child-development team, Kom Erbij/Participe and Tom in de buurt. Together, they offer services such as pregnancy and birth care, parenting guidance, workshops, family support, health advice, vaccinations and developmental check-ins. Supported initiatives include Nu Niet Zwanger, which aims to prevent unintended pregnancies, and Ouders Inc., a digital course for new parents.
