About Kanthé
Kanthé | Fontenay is a brand that was born out of a deep passion for tea. With a love for tea and a desire to showcase Africa, the continent of tea, Kanthé aims to reveal the exceptional teas and infusions from the lesser-known African terroirs to the wider public. The founder, Maïmouna Kanté, was raised in Guinea, where she was introduced to the national infusion, Kinkéliba.
Her love for tea developed during her childhood, where she would prepare tea with friends in her grandmother's house. The tea ceremony consisted of three infusions, with the third one being sweet like love, reserved for women and children. Kanthé seeks to share the philosophy and values of tea, such as exchange, authenticity, and discovery.
Through her brand, Maïmouna Kanté wants to introduce tea enthusiasts to the lesser-known teas she has discovered, while also paying homage to her African heritage. Welcome to the world of Kanthé!
