Karate Shotokan Rimouski

Karate Shotokan Rimouski is a karate school in Rimouski, Quebec, offering instruction in Shotokan karate in a friendly, family-oriented setting. Classes take place at the PEPS of Cégep de Rimouski, in room J-214, and the school welcomes women, men, and children of all ages. No particular level of fitness or prior ability is required; students progress at their own pace.

Training develops physical and mental skills, including fitness, flexibility, coordination, cardiovascular capacity, concentration, self-confidence, and stress management. Sessions typically include a traditional bow, warm-up, progressive practice, and stretching. Instruction covers blocking and striking techniques using the arms and legs, kata—sequences that simulate combat with multiple opponents—and non-contact sparring taught progressively and safely. Members can also attend advanced training workshops with experienced instructors and may participate in provincial, national, and international competitions. The school lists instructors Christian Godard, 6th dan, and Renée Kavanagh, 5th dan. A beginner session is announced to start on September 19, 2026, with registration details available through the school.
