Karate with Sensei Ricky

Karate with Sensei Ricky offers traditional Shotokan Karate classes for children, teens and adults in Brookvale and the Northern Beaches, including Dee Why and Narrabeen. Led by Sensei Ricky, who has practised karate since childhood and competed in tournaments, the school welcomes students of different ages, experience levels and athletic abilities. Its approach combines enjoyable training with the development of practical skills, personal growth and mental discipline.

Classes introduce the four key aspects of Shotokan practice: kihon, or basic blocks, punches, kicks and footwork; kata, a sequence of techniques used to learn concepts and applications; kumite, or sparring in free and structured formats; and fitness and flexibility exercises that support strength, endurance and mobility. Training is intended to help students build fitness, balance, body awareness, concentration, confidence and stress-management skills. Sensei Ricky emphasizes supportive instruction and aims to help students make progress while enjoying their practice. Prospective students can book a free trial class through the school’s website, and the site provides a contact email and social media details for enquiries.
