Karnevalsfreunde Erftstadt-Gymnich von 2002 e.V. is a local carnival association bringing the lively traditions of the fifth season to Gymnich, in Germany’s Rhein-Erft district. The organization welcomes carnival enthusiasts of different ages and offers opportunities to take part in its community through events, performances and membership. Its activities include dance groups and the KfG-Band, which contribute to the area’s festive carnival culture.
One featured group, the Jemenicher Jonge un Mädche, has been performing on stage since 2019. Formed from the earlier Jemenicher Flüh group, it now includes 15 motivated dancers aged between 15 and 33, with participation open to interested newcomers. The association also highlights the Jemenicher Flüh, alongside its band and other carnival activities.
Through its events and gatherings, Karnevalsfreunde Gymnich invites residents and visitors to experience a cheerful, community-centred expression of Cologne-style carnival. Its website shares news, event information, details about meetings and the association, and ways to get in touch or become a member.
