About Karoo to Coast
The Lions Karoo to Coast Mountain Bike Challenge is a premier off-road cycling event taking place on September 22, 2024, spanning a breathtaking 100km route from Uniondale to Knysna via the stunning Prince Alfred's Pass. This challenging race invites mountain bikers, gravel cyclists, and E-bike enthusiasts to experience the scenic beauty of South Africa's landscape while competing in a rewarding environment. Participants are encouraged to train adequately to fully enjoy the experience. The event, now in its 24th year, supports the Lions Clubs of Uniondale and Knysna, with all proceeds benefitting local charities, including the South African Guide Dog Association.
For 2024, the entry fee is R780, which includes a community dinner in Uniondale. The race features a variety of categories, including prizes for top E-bike and gravel bike riders. As an official Premier Seeding Event for the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour, the Lions Karoo to Coast promises to be an exhilarating challenge for adventurers in the cycling community.
