Karta Pobedy is an online historical project presenting the Soviet Union’s path to victory in the Great Patriotic War through documentary film footage and archival photographs from the State Film Fund of Russia. Its interactive map connects users with wartime locations and events, bringing together stories of memorable places, battles, the liberation of cities, labor contributions, and everyday life during the war. Visitors can explore events by location and date, using a timeline that spans 1941 to 1945, with entries covering episodes such as the defense of the Brest Fortress and the Baltic Fleet’s role in defending Leningrad.

The site offers dedicated sections for the event map, newsreel footage, and historical stories, allowing users to encounter the past through both visual records and curated accounts. Users can also sign in and submit an event, contributing to the map’s collection. Designed as an accessible resource, Karta Pobedy includes a version for visitors with visual impairments and supports Russian-language navigation
