Our culture is deeply rooted in the river, and we carry forward rich traditions of basketry, ceremonial practices, and environmental stewardship, especially through salmon fishing and cultural burning.

The Karuk Tribe, located in Happy Camp, CA, is dedicated to promoting the general welfare of all Karuk people. Their mission is to establish equality and justice for their tribe, restore and preserve Tribal traditions, customs, language, and ancestral rights, and secure the power of self-governance for themselves and future generations.
