全日本かるた協会

The All Japan Karuta Association, established to promote the cultural heritage of the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, is dedicated to advancing the art of competitive karuta throughout Japan and beyond. With a focus on research, education, and hosting events, the association organizes approximately 60 national tournaments each year, culminating in prestigious competitions such as the Meijin and Queen title matches.

Offering resources for both beginners and experienced players, the association provides detailed guides on the rules, etiquette, and techniques of competitive karuta. It also facilitates a vibrant community of approximately 1 million participants, including school clubs and children's groups, as well as a growing international presence with around ten registered overseas clubs.

Through lectures, workshops, and a commitment to cultural promotion, the All Japan Karuta Association aims to cultivate broader appreciation for this nearly 800-year-old tradition, ensuring its continued relevance in Japanese culture. Join them in celebrating and preserving this unique aspect of Japan's rich heritage.
