Katajakangas is a family-run dog and hunting business based in the Kalajokilaakso region of Ostrobothnia, Finland. With around 30 years of experience, it focuses on hunting and the training of pointing dogs, as well as breeding shorthaired German pointers. Its work is grounded in practical experience and aims to help dogs and handlers develop the skills needed for hunting and field trials.

Katajakangas offers training for dogs at different stages, along with assessments that identify a dog-and-handler team’s strengths, development needs and progress toward its goals. The business also breeds puppies for people seeking capable hunting companions, with future litters dependent on suitable breeding matches. On the same premises, specialist shop KuonoSoppi serves dog owners with essential products, including equipment and raw food. Together, the training, breeding and retail services provide support for pointing-dog owners, from choosing a puppy to developing a partnership in the field. Katajakangas presents its approach as honest, experience-based guidance in a welcoming rural setting.
