Katarzyna Rogowiec

The Katarzyna Rogowiec Avanti Foundation is a Polish nonprofit established in 2010 to promote equal opportunities and improve the lives of people with disabilities. Founded by Katarzyna Rogowiec, a decorated Paralympic cross-country skier and biathlete, the organization draws on her experience to encourage people to overcome barriers and pursue their goals. Rogowiec’s sporting achievements include gold medals at the 2006 Turin Paralympics and further medals in international cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions.

Avanti supports the development and inclusion of people with disabilities, particularly through sport and travel. Its work also encompasses assistance for people who are ill or at risk of social exclusion, with special attention to children, young people and their families. The foundation promotes education, health, local communities, volunteering, charitable activity and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. It also supports disabled athletes through sports marketing and initiatives that raise their profile. Through these activities, Avanti seeks to foster integration between people with and without disabilities and help create fairer opportunities across society.
