Katharinen-Schule is a private special education support centre in Ursberg, operated by the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk. It supports children and young people through tailored educational assistance, welcoming pupils with different learning needs and helping each make progress at an individual pace. Special education teachers, support teachers and subject teachers work with small classes and individual support plans. The school prepares students for transitions to primary or middle school, for successful completion of middle school, or for a qualification in the learning support focus area. Career guidance and preparation for a range of vocational training paths are also key priorities.
Alongside classroom teaching, Katharinen-Schule offers a school preparatory facility (SVE) to help children get ready for a successful start to school. Its wider school community includes counselling, staff and school committees, a support association, and opportunities for families to find information and assistance. School news and events highlight student activities, workshops, first-aid learning and community initiatives. The school presents itself as a supportive place where learning, participation and belonging are encouraged.
