Katin Kultapaja

Katin Kultapaja is an independent jewellery workshop and online shop in Porvoo, Finland, creating distinctive pieces inspired by the character of natural materials. Its collection includes stone jewellery, horse-themed jewellery, lace jewellery, the Väreilyä series and Soljuva flexible rings. The online selection changes, and many designs are unique.

The workshop’s maker personally cuts and polishes most of the stones used in the jewellery, including Finnish stones valued for their rugged beauty. Customers can also request a stone to be shaped into a jewellery piece. Designs may combine stones with silver or gold, as well as materials such as feathers, horsehair, fabric and vintage lace. Metalwork is carried out using traditional methods, and the workshop’s precious-metal products bear the KKP maker’s mark.

Soljuva rings are designed for people who find conventional rings uncomfortable, including those whose fingers swell or whose knuckles are wider than their fingers. The rings flex slightly under pressure and return to shape, with the degree of flexibility depending on the metal.
