Kattenkabinet, located in Amsterdam, is a unique cat art museum dedicated entirely to the feline figure in art and culture. Established in tribute to John Pierpont Morgan, a cherished cat companion of the museum's founder, Bob Meijer, the museum houses an extensive collection of over 25 years of works that feature cats across various artistic mediums, including paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Visitors can explore this diverse collection to uncover the significance of cats throughout history in the realm of art.
The museum offers virtual tours, an engaging webshop with an array of products such as posters, books, and T-shirts, and recently introduced a guided Cat Tour experience that provides deeper insights into the exhibited works and the artists behind them. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00, tickets can be purchased online to manage capacity effectively. Whether you're an art enthusiast or a cat lover, Kattenkabinet invites you to celebrate the artistic representation of cats
