Kavillo Studios is a design-led accommodation brand in Mudgee, New South Wales, offering an eco-conscious retreat in the region’s wine country. Located about five kilometres from town, the property brings together contemporary architecture, art and nature in a peaceful rural setting. Its four off-grid villas—Oak, Olive, Blossom and Birch—each provide a 60-square-metre space for two adults, with a king bed and private bathroom.
Thoughtful details include hand-carved marble sinks, custom furnishings and carefully selected comforts. Solar energy and flywheel technology support the studios’ off-grid operation, while the architecture and interiors are designed to sit harmoniously within the natural surroundings. Kavillo welcomes well-behaved dogs for an additional cleaning fee, and families may bring their own bedding or portacot for young children.
Beyond accommodation, the brand offers a private setting for intimate weddings and helps guests explore the area through a local e-bike partnership, with bikes delivered to their studio. Sculptures featured at Kavillo are also available to purchase through the artist’s website
