The Family Photo Project, initiated by the Japan Napping Art Association in 2020, aims to strengthen family bonds through the power of photography. Recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association, this initiative establishes "Family Photo Day" annually, encouraging families to consciously dedicate time to create lasting memories. The project emphasizes the importance of deepening family relationships before capturing moments, ensuring that each photograph serves as a heartfelt reminder of their love.

Having connected with nearly 400,000 families over eight years, the project addresses a common concern: while parents often capture countless images of their young children, they frequently neglect to include themselves in these precious memories. The initiative promotes a culture of documenting daily life, transforming fleeting moments into cherished keepsakes.

Led by Mizuho Aoki, a mother of three and a seasoned professional in early childhood education, the Family Photo Project offers guidance on creating meaningful photographs that combine visuals with heartfelt words, fostering connections for present and future generations. Together, they aim to cultivate richer family narratives through photography.
