KBMP

The Klamath Basin Monitoring Program (KBMP) is dedicated to the stewardship, protection, and restoration of the Klamath River watershed, focusing on improving water quality across the region. Over the past decade, KBMP has emerged as a pivotal organization amidst various resource challenges, including water allocation, quality, and the protection of endangered species. By collaborating with a diverse array of stakeholders—including state and federal agencies, tribal entities, and watershed groups—KBMP leads efforts in monitoring water quality and ecosystem health.

Their extensive monitoring activities encompass critical aspects of the watershed, such as fish populations, hydrology, and aquatic plant communities. Through these initiatives, KBMP helps develop and implement Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) plans that ensure the vitality of the aquatic ecosystem. Additionally, they engage the community by providing crucial public health information and holding two annual meetings focused on water quality issues. As a voluntary membership organization, KBMP remains committed to enhancing the overall health of the Klamath Basin for current and future generations.
