About KCGCF
KCGCF, or The Kentucky Center for Grieving Children and Families, is a compassionate and supportive organization dedicated to helping bereaved children navigate their grief. They understand that children struggling with unsupported grief may face challenges in various aspects of their lives, including school, emotional regulation, and relationships. To address these difficulties, KCGCF offers a range of programs and services.
Their programs include group support and individual counseling services, which play a crucial role in helping children process their grief and develop healthy coping strategies. They emphasize the importance of normalizing grief and providing a safe space for children to express their feelings. KCGCF also recognizes the unique needs of children and families grieving losses from stigmatized causes like suicide, substance abuse, and criminal activity, offering a sense of safety and understanding.
Founded in 2021, KCGCF was born out of a personal experience of loss and a deep desire to support grieving children in Kentucky. With a dedicated team, including their Clinical Program Manager, Emily Johnson, who has a passion for working with grieving children and families, the organization is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of bereaved children. By providing a safe and healing environment, KCGCF aims to empower bereaved children, helping them develop resilience and emotional awareness that will benefit them throughout their lives
