Birth It Forward

Birth it Forward is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving families in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Formerly known as KC Women’s Ministry and the PPRC, the organization works to support and empower women and families through pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood, regardless of income. Its services are designed to provide personalized, evidence-based care and education, with a connected team of doulas and lactation consultants supporting families across different stages.

Services include birth doula care in homes, hospitals, and birth centers; bereavement support; postpartum doula visits; lactation and infant-feeding consultations; childbirth education; and hands-on doula training through Birth it Forward Academy. A free 24/7 warmline connects parents with trained volunteers for non-urgent pregnancy and postpartum concerns. The organization also runs Mother’s Closet pop-up events, offering maternity, infant, and children’s items at no cost. Client fees help fund low- and no-cost services for families in need. Birth it Forward generally serves clients within 30 miles of downtown Kansas City, with some doulas covering additional areas.
