About Kenya Coalition on Youth
Youth Peace and Security (KCYPS) is a dedicated collective organization advocating for youth development, peace, and security in Kenya. Bringing together youth-led organizations, activists, advocates, and peacebuilders with governmental and civil society entities, KCYPS aims to implement the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) Agenda locally. By focusing on enhancing youth leadership at the grassroots level, the coalition addresses the challenges of fragmented initiatives and limited communication hindering nationwide impact assessment.
Through coordination efforts and partnerships with stakeholders like the Government of Kenya, KCYPS spearheads youth participation in peace processes, capacity-building, advocacy, and policy development. The coalition's decentralized approach establishes county chapters to localize efforts, amplify young peacebuilders' voices, and foster inter-county exchanges. Committed to creating a peaceful and secure Kenya, KCYPS actively promotes youth inclusion in decision-making processes and seeks to garner support and recognition for young people's crucial contributions to peace, security, and development in the country
