KEC (Kennis en Expertise Centrum) geeft antwoord op de steeds complexere zorgvraag rondom gedrag in de ouderenzorg dat door zorgverleners als problematisch wordt ervaren. KEC richt zich op samenwerking in de regio. In Kennemerland ervaren medewerkers van VVT- organisaties dat de zorgvraag steeds complexer wordt. Niet alleen qua lichamelijke, medische en verpleegtechnische zorg, maar ook voor wat betreft gedrag en het omgaan hiermee. Om zorgverleners beter toe te rusten is in 2017 het project KEC van start gegaan; een Kennis en Expertise Centrum rondom complex gedrag binnen de VVT. Het Zorgkantoor heeft budget beschikbaar gesteld voor de ontwikkeling van het Kennis en Expertise Centrum. Sinds begin 2024 is het het KEC geborgd binnen de 3 grotere zorgorganisaties in de regio en verloopt de financiering vanuit henzelf. Doel van KEC is zorgaanbieders handvatten te geven voor een gezamenlijke regionale aanpak en om een werkwijze tot stand te brengen. Dit komt niet alleen ten goede aan de zorgmedewerkers, maar ook aan de cliënten en mantelzorgers. KEC is er voor alle VVT-organisaties in de regio Kennemerland. Door middel van regionale samenwerking tussen deze organisaties worden krachten gebundeld en wordt kennis gedeeld.
