Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free is a coalition that unites a diverse range of civic, business, and labor organizations committed to preventing the imposition of congestion taxes in New York City, particularly in Manhattan’s Central Business District (CBD). The coalition opposes tolls that would burden drivers accessing the city’s free East River and Harlem River bridges, advocating against proposals to charge as much as $25 daily to enter the CBD.

The organization seeks to inform New Yorkers about the negative impacts of congestion pricing and emphasizes its stance against tolls that disproportionately affect residents and businesses. Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free champions alternative solutions aimed at addressing traffic congestion while ensuring equitable funding for mass transit. The coalition produces a variety of reports and commentaries, providing insights into the ongoing discourse surrounding congestion pricing. With a strong call to action, they urge supporters to join in voicing objections to any toll schemes that threaten the accessibility of New York City’s streets.
