Kendal Industrial Park (KIP) is the largest industrial township development in Central Java, spanning across an impressive 2,200 hectares. This ambitious project is a joint venture between two industry-leading developers, Sembcorp Development Ltd from Singapore and PT. Jababeka Tbk from Indonesia, with strong support from both countries' governments.

Since its inauguration in November 2016 by Indonesia's President, Joko Widodo, and Singapore's Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong, KIP has attracted 83 business entities across various industries including food, furniture, fashion, electronics, and automotive. KIP's first phase of development includes industrial clusters, a town center, shopping districts, residential areas, and recreational spaces. It is the first development of its kind in Central Java and serves as an operating ecosystem for numerous industrial clusters, creating a self-sustaining economic system.

Recognizing its significance, the Indonesian government has designated KIP as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in accordance with PP No. 85/2019. This status ensures accelerated development of macro and micro infrastructure, and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs actively monitors and evaluates its progress.
