Kendo à Montivilliers

Kendo Club de Montivilliers is a martial arts club based at the Dojo de Montivilliers, near Le Havre in Normandy. Affiliated with the Comité National de Kendo and the French Judo, Jujitsu and Associated Disciplines Federation (FFJDA), the club offers instruction in kendo, the Japanese art of swordsmanship, and iaido, the practice of drawing and using the Japanese sword. Classes are led by experienced instructors, including kendo teachers holding grades from second to fourth dan.

Kendo sessions are available for children aged 7 to 15 and adults aged 15 and over, with classes on Tuesday and Friday evenings and a Sunday session. Iaido is taught on Sunday mornings. Beginners can attend a trial class at no cost and start in sportswear; the club lends protective armour, shinai and bokken, so no equipment purchase is needed initially. The dojo has changing rooms and showers, and is accessible by bus from Le Havre, with free parking nearby. Fees are charged quarterly, with family discounts, and several sports assistance schemes are accepted.
